The "Regionale 2006" is a joint project for the "Bergisch Triangle", organised by the three towns of Remscheid, Solingen, Wuppertal and sponsored by the state of Nordrhein-Westfalen. As part of the campaign, the towns are jointly putting together structural projects that are setting town-planning, cultural and commercial highlights for the region.

The aim is to further enhance the image of the region as an exciting residential and commercial location, and make it fit for European competition.

The "Regionale 2006" is directed essentially at structural change in the region, due to its early industrialisation.

This is the focus of the projects to be implemented in the course of "Regionale 2006" - playing to the existing strengths of the region, and bringing together the special competences of the companies of the "Bergisch Triangle".

In the year 2006, the region will present itself to local residents and visitors from beyond the region in the course of a capabilities demonstration as a unique cultural landscape, a residential location worth experiencing and a high-performance commercial location with particular flair.
